Two Scrapbook Friends Reveal

Well it's that time again, I can't believe that another month has flown by! But it is Design Team reveal time over at Two Scrapbook Friends... and here are my entries.....

The papers in this months kit we so beautiful and vibrant, perfect for this grad picture.... sorry I have to hide the face as this girl is in care. But if you know her you'd know the papers suit her personality to a T and were the perfect choice for her!

This is my sister, Kathy, and her son, Jake. I added some Bazzill In Stitchz to this layout, which are now a new favourite of mine!

This is a jumbo clothes pin that I altered, I know it will make a cute addition to a desk as a note holder.

Loved the papers with this black and white photo, the vibrant colours of the papers really play off the picture.

Oh Scrappy Night

Last night I attended a friend's crop, it was a last minute thing for me to attend and I had literally 10 minutes to grab what I needed before I left home. So as you can imagine, I had little to no expectations for accomplishing anything. However, I was pleasantly surprised that I completed these two layouts!
Now I am off to prepare for dinner with friends, we are bringing corn on the cob and an Oreo Cheese Cake. Have a great weekend!

Scrapping with Timmy

A few months back Timmy went to Two Scrapbook Friends with me (he loves the scrapbooking store) needless to say I spent a little more than usual that day, once we both checked out! (hehehe) He was so happy that Carolyn's daughter put his purchases into a separate bag for him to carry. One of the things he choose that day was this kit designed by the Two Friends. Well , we finally printed pictures and sat down to work on the kit (actually I had worked on it a couple of times as all the little grommets, cogs and robots are hand cut and this was something Timmy wouldn't have been able to manage). He did some inking for the first time and really liked it! we changed the layout ever so slightly to accommodate the pictures that Timmy wanted to use. Since the title is "Hitching a Ride", we thought pictures of him on rides at Ontario Place seemed fitting. Super job Timmy, I had a lot of fun playing with you, and can't think of a better way to have spent a rainy Sunday! Love you, baby boy! xoxox

A Scrappy Night!

Last night I scrapped with most of my scrappy friends "The Scrappin' Bitches", as usual it was a great evening. you can't get any better when these ladies get together. We missed our friends, Chris and Laura who had previous commitments, but we were thankful the rest of us could get together. It can be incredibly difficult to get 8 women's schedules to jive, especially when some are shift workers. Surprisingly (or not, no life!) I am always available!
Thanks to Anita for hosting, thanks to Steve for chauffeuring his pregnant and overdue wife, Sheri, so she could play too. Not to mention sticking around til 1:00 am in case he was needed to be a coach. Thanks to all the ladies and Lee's hubby Daryl for the awesome food!
Lot's of laughter, lots of food, some good wine... what more could you want? Oh yeah, I even got a couple of pages done!

(don't know if you can tell but the little worms eyes have glassy accents on them to make them googly!)

Friendzy Friday at Two Scrapbook Friends

It's my turn again to post a tip or technique for the Two Scrapbook Friends blog and this time I decided to tackle Bazzill's In Stitch'z, mainly because it's something that I have been meaning to try myself for quite some time now. When I was in the store at the end of July I picked up Bazzill's In Stitch'z flourish template and a package of brown and blue floss. The packages of floss come with two needles, so I figured this was enough to get me started.

The first step is using the template to pierce holes into your project, in your desired location. I used paperclips to secure the template to my paper to avoid any possibility of it shifting.

Next begin stitching through the holes, you will end up with a stitch and a space pattern. Once you have completed the entire flourish, go back over your work in reverse and this will fill in the spaces.

In my case I decided to use my flourish on a card... check out the finished product. I love flourishes and stitched flourishes add another layer of texture to your project.

This was a lot of fun and super simple... I will definitely be doing it again!

We're home and RAK winner!

Well the week is over and we are home safe and sound from our Disney trip! We had a fabulous time despite the extreme heat and humidity (duh...August in Florida!) and some fleeting rain storms (which actually helped reduce the humidity levels). The parks were great, we have never seen the Animal Kingdom park before and it was by far our fav! Timmy and Ian loved the rides in all of the pars, and the shows were fantastic! I even enjoyed the 3D show (A Bug's Life) despite the fact that I cannot see 3D, there was so much to see and feel that I didn't feel like I missed out at all! Our resort was so relaxing and not "in your face Disney" that it was a great place for down time. The pool was lovely and a hot tub each night felt good on the old back! I have decided that I am not a huge fan of flying, but it has definite advantages over driving so I will definitely have to do it again!! Oh and I can't wait to go back to Disney... but not in the summer again, maybe the fall... October/November is their food and wine festival at Disney, that sounds really appealing to me!!

As for the RAK winner... I used the old fashioned draw a name from a hat (or in this case a ceramic pot) method and Timmy was the draw-er! Congratulations Ann you are the winner! Email me at with you address and I will send your prize out to you ASAP! Thanks to everyone for playing along!

RAK !!!! - closed

Hello..... I am so excited! Tomorrow Ian, Timmy and I leave for Disney!!! We have been planning and saving for this trip for so long and I can hardly believe it's time to go! We haven't done a big trip since I have been on a disability pension, usually we take the kids to a rented cottage, so this trip is a pretty big deal for us. Ian and I have never flown together, I haven't flown since I was 10 years old and my family moved back to Canada from Florida. We took our big boys to Disney when they were younger and at that time we drove down and stayed at a condo off-site. Ian and I always said if we went again we would fly(such a long drive for one driver) and stay on-site, and this is it! Woo hoo! Thank goodness we have Timmy and can do it all over again!

Actually, if truth be told we are staying over in Buffalo tomorrow and then flying to Orlando on Tuesday morning! We have to be at the airport at 4 am for our 6am flights, thus the sleepover in Buffalo.

I wanted to leave you with a little something while I am away so I am offering these 8 cards with envies, as a RAK to one lucky recipient. I have even packaged them all up for you! Leave me a comment on this post and I will do a random draw on August 13th (we get home on the 11th in the evening so this gives me a day to get my act together!)

See you all when I get back, stay well!
