A great ending!

Wow, what a great end to my week! I had a wonderful time at my friend, Laura's, crop for Crohns and Colitis. Laura did an awesome job organizing and running this day crop! A day filled with good food, lovely prizes and great company. It was awesome getting together with my scrappy friends again. Our group, which consisted of 7 gals (usually 9 but Lee was working and Laura was hosting) all organized to "surprise" Laura by bringing baked goods en masse to share with all the scrappers at the event today! Yum! I hope this event was successful for Laura, it would be great to do it every year!
Here is a look at what I created.....
this layout I completed for Carolyn's (of 2SF) circle challenge.
This is Timmy's senior Kindergarten school picture, I love his silly little grin showing off his missing tooth!
This layout remembers a few years back, when Timmy helped Daddy build me the white picket fence I always wanted.
A countdown calendar for Timmy, to track the days until our Disney vacation. I will have him start this on his last day of school. I can't take credit for this idea, but I know we will have a great time counting down our sleeps until our big trip!
A birthday card for Timmy, his big day is March 17th! He really wants a Disney party this year, he is all about Disney at the moment. Actually he has been for quite sometime now. I am so proud that he had been saving his allowance and any other money he has received over the last year to take to Disney with him. This has been his idea, even when we didn't know when or if we'd be able to go on this trip, he was storing away his money, saying to us "I am putting this in my Disney bank". Such a good boy... he will have about $300.00 of his own spending money by the time we leave! Give or take a couple of more loose teeth!!!
A birthday card for my niece, Zaida, turning 3 at the end of March.
How cute is this baby girl card, I found a template for this card online and couldn't resist making a couple.

My week has been a little off.

This week my week has been a little off, I have a head cold and have felt run down. I haven't felt like doing house work or even my workout. Being so idle affects my sleep, I don't sleep well if I don't workout so then I've been tired on top of it all. By day 3, I am ashamed to admit I just end up feeling sorry for myself.

I am looking forward to Saturday, I will be attending a day crop with my girlfriends. The day crop is a fundraiser for Crohn's and Colitis. I know that if I don't get out of my funk by Saturday, it will disappear once I hook up with the gals that morning! Nothing like some girl time to cure what ails you! Especially when there is scrapbooking involved!!

On a positive note, I did spend time this week researching and booking a Disney vacation for my husband and I and two of our boys (Timmy,5 and Jon, 17)! I think I am looking forward to it as much as the kids are, if not more! We haven't been since Jon was 3 and I have wanted to go back with him ever since, but it was never the right time, you know how life has a tendency to get in the way. Anyway, we don't travel til August as my DH can only take his holidays in the summer. It will be hot and busy, but I don't care because it will be magical! We will be flying this time and that is new for us, my boys have never flown so that will be an adventure, too!

It looks like we will be travelling with friends as well, so that's wonderful! Timmy has a little friend in kindergarten named, Avery, she is an adorable, fun and spunky little thing and we have been fortunate enough to become friends with her family. As both our families are foster families we have a lot in common and relate well to one another. I am looking forward to spending this time with my hubby and my boys and such great friends!

Scrappin' with the girls!

This past Sunday my scrappy friends and I got together to create. Together we are the Scrappin' Bitches. It is always a great day, with lots of laughter, good food, great art and fabulous company! I look forward to these gatherings weeks in advance, this month we are lucky to have two opportunities to get together, last Sunday the 15th and Saturday the 28th at our friend Laura Shaver's crop for Crohn's and Colitis! Anyway this is what I created on Sunday. I didn't produce a lot that day, but I sure had a great time!

Valentine Card

This is the card I made for my hubby for Valentine's Day this year. I saw the idea, while surfing the net, to use a flat card with a pocket for my handwritten sentiment and I knew I had to use it! It's kind of a fun and funky idea and a little different, this card seemed like the perfect opportunity to incorporate this idea.

Craftin' with Timmy!

I love craftin' with my little guy, and he's getting so good at it! His dexterity and coordination are really improving and he can participate so much more this year. Tuesday we made Valentines for his class at school. Actually we made the chocolate suckers 2 weeks ago (you can freeze them if you have to make them in advance) and Tuesday we did the papercrafting part. (btw - he totally loves his little mini tote-ally cool tote!)

I have no idea why we always craft first thing in the morning, when we are both still in pj's, likely because that is when he has the most patience. But from the looks of all the craftin' pics I have of the two of us, you'd think we lived in our jammies! lol!
