Fun in the Kitchen

Hi again friends!

I am back again with another quick post to share a fun idea to do with you kiddies this summer.  Timmy and I just did a science experiment and made ice cream!


It is super yummy!   We got the idea from a class Timmy is taking this summer from Big Picture Classes.  Here are the deets:

Put these 3 ingredients into a small sandwich sized ziploc bag:
-1/2 cup milk, cream or half and half (we used cream as it was leftover from another recipe)
-1/4 tsp vanilla
-1 tbsp sugar

Next, fill a large ziploc bag with ice cubes and 6 tablespoons of rock salt and place the smaller bag inside as well.  Now shake for 5 - 10 minutes until the mixture sets.  Wash the rim outer edges of the small bag before scooping out the ice cream to avoid any salt transfer.

Note, this only makes a single serving so if you have a couple of kidlets you may want to let them each make their own batch.  We added fresh raspberries from our garden to ours to make it extra yummy.
