Designer's August Reveal - ScrapMuch?, Jillibean Soup,

Hello all!

Can you believe it is August?  As I am sitting here typing, I am wondering what happened to July.  For me it flew by in a moving, CHA Chicago trip, trailer parking frenzy!  I am guessing that a lot of you are feeling the same way.  I am noticing that back to school things are in stores now and yet, we are not ready to say good-bye to summer.

For this month's reveal I scrapped a bevy of summer photos, from this current summer and from summers past.  If you have summer scrapping to do, I highly recommend these products that I received in my design kit from ScrapMuch? this month.

Stickers and Papers from Jillibean Soup's Chilled Strawberry Soup collection

 Petaloo's Glittered Dahlia's

And the following stickers from my stash, which are also from
Jillibean Soup's Chilled Strawberry Soup collection

and these journaling tags from the collection

Of course, we all know these papers are perfect for our Strawberry picking and strawberry treat layouts.  That goes without saying, could we get anything better for a seasonal favourite activity?

So, I thought I would challenge myself to do something different with this collection and hopefully inspire a few of you to try it as well.

First up I wanted to scrap these photos of my son,Timmy and his 'fancy' drink.  He loves to order Shirley Temples, when we go out for a celebratory dinner!

This layout is very simple, and highlights my photos well.  Just a few random strips of paper and some embellishments.  The doily cam home from CHA with me, I  got it with a drink at a restaurant we ate at!  It seemed kind of fitting to use it on this layout about a fancy drink!

I used a couple of Jilliebean chipboard banner shapes and some rickrack from my stash to create this little embellished corner on my layout.
As with papers, I layer stickers too, it just seems to give them more importance that way.  Adding a pop dot under them helps give your layout some dimension, too.
I cut a flower it half to use it as the leaves on this strawberry that I hand cut from the patterned paper.

Next up is this double page layout, featuring photos from our trip to Disney a couple of years ago.  We enjoyed a character dinner at 'Mickey's Backyard BBQ".  I thought this collection would lend itself well to a picnic theme.

I layered one journaling sticker over another for a greater impact.
Some die cut tags layered with a corrugated butterfly, creat an embellishment cluster.
Baker's twine from my stash wrapped around a butterfly, some Bazzil leaves and a few Jillibean stickpins create another cluster.
The banner for the title is created from punched circles, and alpha stickers which is then draped across bakers twine.  Another doily form a CHA dinner adorns this layout.

And my last layout is another single page.  Featuring photos of Timmy and I at a restaurant while we are out celebrating the 6th anniversary of his adoption.

I layered a littler photo of me kissing him on a journaling tag shaped like a flower and clustered it with some Dear Lizzy flowers from my stash.

I haven't tried this before but I will definitely do it again.  I like the effect of this punched out area for my little date and location journaling tag.
I nestled a cluster of embellishments into my photo in the same manner, by punching a half circle in it.

Next up is a very simple but pretty card.
I love how versatile all of these little notes and journaling tags are.

And last, but not least.  I created this photo cube.  Highlighting some photos of fun summery things we have done to date.
I used ribbon to secure the top corners of my photo box, and used floss to secure the bottom corners, so it would sit more level.
A fun photo and a cluster of little goodies on each side.

Go ahead and give clustering your embellies a try.  I know you'll be happy with the results!

The top of the box is a great place for a title and some bulky embellies.

Wow, that was a lot and I was down to the wire, too.  Usually I have my little reveal all ready to go a week or so in advance.  But this month I have played too much, so I am doing it only hours in advance!

Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been playing with this month!

Laura
xoxo
