I {heart} cookies

Hello all,

I was feeling like I wanted to create something yesterday afternoon, while the kiddies were outside playing in the snow.  I had been poking around some blogs and I came across a layout by Joanne, that she created of her son with some Valentine cookies.  Decorating Valentine cookies is a bit of a tradition around here, and Joanne's use of red and kraft inspired me.  I have had some Jillibean papers that I had been wanting to use for a little while now so after pulling out some pictures ans supplies, I sat down to work.  But I couldn't 'feel' it.  I walked away (actually I went and whined at my hubby "I can't scrap!") . Anyway, a few minutes later I sat down at my desk again, and finished this layout in about 20 minutes.  A personal record!

I really wanted to use more pink on this layout, but didn't come across anything other than the little pink heart paper clip.  Oh well, another time.  The green heart is cut from a Jillibean canvas flower.  I also, wanted to ignore the blue in his shirt, so that the colours in the icing really stand out.  This kid has mad icing skills!

Momentos pocket layout

Hello all!

I wanted to share the last page in my Disney album, nope I am not done yet, but I knew what I wanted for my last page so I thought I'd go ahead and get it done.  I wanted a place to store our Magic Express tickets, boarding passes, etc.  all the little reminders of our vacation, that I keep (for some unknown reason ;) ).  So I decided to create this pocket to stash all the goodies in, that we can pull out and look at when the mood suits.

And here is a peek with all of our mementos in it.
Fun, eh?

Disney Layouts

Hello all!

Lately, I have been focused on finishing up my Disney Album.  The goal is to have it completed before we go again in October of this year.  Doesn't sound too bad, right?  Well, I have been working on it, off and on, since our trip in August of 2009.  So, I guess what I am saying is... I need more focus! lol  I have a ton of photos that I want to scrap, which might be part of the problem.  Another factor is one of my older sons moved back home so now I do not currently have a scrappy space, other than the kitchen table.  Which is not a huge deal, but I like to leave a layout out and go back to it before I decide it's done, which is a little difficult to do on the kitchen table!  Anyway, the bottom line is, I am glad my son is home and I will just learn to go with the flow.

A couple of weeks ago, I got together with some girlfriends to scrap.  It was a great opportunity to work on my Disney stuff.  I took the photos we had taken at 'Chef Mickey's" along with some supplies.  I knew I wanted to use all the same papers and embellishments for this 'experience' , so that anyone looking at our album would know the layouts are all form the same event.  I also wanted to do very simple and repetitive layouts, since the pictures were so colourful.  Turns out I didn't get much done... apparently I talk too much!  Go figure!

I did however manage to finish the layouts at home over a period of a few days.  Check them out....

Love these pictures of my little guy, so glad they are finally in my album!  This event is a 'must do' for us again this year, it was so much fun to see all the characters and such a relaxed event.

Thanks for popping by!

Valentine's for my sweets!

I thought I'd share a few Valentine's that I made the other day.

This one is for my hubby...

The papers are all My Mind's Eye, cardstock, alpha stickers and brown ribbon is CTMH, heart paper clip is from the grocery store, the ticket stub is Tim Hotlz,  glitter ribbon, button and gems are all MME, as well.
Love the little heart paper clip, attached to this heart I cut out of MME paper with a Spellbinders die.  I also love the old camera on the paper itself, my hubby and I love antiques, we actually have a camera similar to the one pictured.
MME has beautiful embellishments that coordinate with their lines, I love sprinkling them on my creations.
These CTMH sticker alphas were coloured with COPICS so they coordinated with my card.

This one is for my littlest man, Timmy.  I pulled out a few scraps and some left over stickers.
Patterned paper and stickers are Sassafras, cardstock is CTMH, another grocery store heart clip, buttons and gem are misc.
I love applying my stickers to another piece of cardstock, so that I can pop dot them to add dimension.

This card is for my foster son.
 More Sassafras papers and stickers.
Another sticker mounted on cardstock and pop dotted.
I handcut an extra little monster face and pop dotted it just for fun!

Original Cricut for Sale! - SOLD

Hello!  I just got an early Valentine from my sweetie, a Cricut Expression!  I am selling my old original 6" x 12" Cricut with no cartridges for $85.00, it has been loved and is in good condition.  I have just replaced the cutting blade.  You can email me here if you are interested.

Thanks for popping by!

Thank you cards

I sat down the other day to create a couple of thank you cards.  I have had a picture of a card in my 'to scrap lift' file for quite some time now and I knew it would be perfect for my cards.  I case Debbie Olson's blog frequently, she makes beautiful cards and is a big source of inspiration for me.

Here is her card....

Here are the cards I created based on one of her designs.....

Both cards are identical except for the papers and ribbon I chose to use. I did use a punched file tab on this card and added  some pearls, to make it more my own.
The leaves were punched out of both green card stock and vellum to give them a soft look
On this card I added a piece of a journalling tag I had in my stash and some pink gems.
My flowers were cut using a Spellbinder die on my Cuttlebug.

Thanks for stopping by to check out what I have been up to.  I have Valentien's cards on the go, so watch for those to be posted, too.

A sketch for you

I posted a sketch over on the ScrapMuch? blog and thought I'd share it here too.

Hope you enjoy it, and thanks for stopping by!

A little bit of everything!

I am finally back with some stuff to share!  Although, it will be a mishmish of this and that, taking care of business and getting caught up.  Here goes....

First of all, I posted a new technique on the Scrapmuch? blog Wednesday, you can find it here

Friday a new sketch went up, you can see that here .

And today I posted some sneaks from CHA, lots of great eye candy, which can be found here .

Now, that's the business taken care of, how about some fun?  CHA was held at the convention centre in downtown LA, our hotel was only a block away, and it was stunning.  There was always something to do in the area and great places to eat. One night we ate at Wolfgang Puck's and another we ate at Rockin' Fish, as well as the restaurant in our hotel.  I had no trouble accommodating my allergies, though I'm not really that surprised.  Everywhere we ate the food was fab and the service was good too!  We did a little tour of Hollywood Blvd, Rodeo Drive and saw some of the mansions in the hills one night.  On our bonus day, we headed to the Santa Monica Pier and did some sight seeing as well as some shopping on Santa Monica Blvd.

Check out the pictures....
