Chore Chart - Boy's Rule - Jillibean Soup,

Hi all!

I have a project up on the Boy's Rule blog today using the wonderful September kit.  This month's kit is fabulous! I had so much playing with it!

I created this simple chore chart to help my little guy remember his before and after school chores.  Mornings are not his forte!  I must say it is helping, the visual cues are perfect for him, and I get to stop nagging! lol
I had a few chipboard stars leftover which were perfect for this project.
I colour coded the activities so he could tell the difference between the morning activities and the afternoon activities at a glance.
And the best part is it sits on the front of the fridge where he can see it, at both his busy times of the day.

Why don't you pop by the  Boy's Rule blog, once in a while to see what the other DT members are creating!

Poppa - Boys Rule - Jillibean Soup,

Hi there!

There is a fabulous new sketch to play with today over at Boy's Rule!  I think you are going to love it as much as I did,  especially when it is combined with this month's fun kit!  Here is a look at my interpretation of it......

I had some old photos of my big boys and their Poppa, taken before digital cameras and at home photo editing.  So the focal point of the photos was small, which made them perfect for cropping for this layout.  And even luckier, my boys clothes matched the papers! lol
Love thee Thickers, and using a die cut instead of an 'o' is fun!
I adore these badges, and using the stickers to create my own journaling!

 Fab sketch by Jenny Evans.

Now why don't you pop on over to the Boy's Rule blog to play along with this week's sketch!  I will be sure to visit your blog and leave you some love if you do!

Blessings - A challenge or 3

HI there!

It has been so long since I have played along with a challenge, summer was a  little too crazy to add anything extra onto my scrappy plate.  But now that the kids are settled back into school, and I have more time to myself, I have found time to play along.

I was inspired by 3 challenges this week, actually more so by the samples - they always getting me itching to create!

Here is my card......

I used a combination of MME and AC patterned papers, The sentiment sticker and button are October Afternoon, the twine is SU, burlap is Canvas Corp. the cardstock is CTMH, And the digital stamp is from Jane's Doodles.
A pretty simple card with lots of texture and layers.

I am playing along with Colour Challenge #211 @ Color ThrowdownCard Sketch #32 at Let's Capture Those Sketches,  and Little Red Wagon's Challenge #152 Inspiration Photo.

Thanks for visitng!

Chipboard Embossing - ScrapMuch? Tutorial

Hi there!

Happy Wednesday!  I have a fun and easy tutorial up on the ScrapMuch? blog and as always I like to share it here too!  A little something to get you some extra mileage out of your chipboard shapes and your Cuttlebug ( or other die cutting machine).

Before you go ahead and alter and/or adhere those sweet chipboard shapes from your stash, to your next project.  Have a look at what you can do with them first....

I started with a package of chipboard hearts.
Using my Cuttlebug I layered a 'B' plate, my embossing Polymer mat, a sheet of cardstock (I chose white but you can use any colour) and then I placed the hearts in a pattern (you can totally go random if that is your preference).  Next add a second 'B' plate and run the 'sandwich' through your machine.
This is what you end up with..... cool right?
A little close up.   And the bonus part is the chipboard hearts are un-harmed so I can use them again like this or as an embellishment to my next project, just as I normally would.

This is the card I made using this technique.

A couple of close ups of my card for you.

Told you it was easy!  Why don't you give it a try!

Summer Friends - ScrapMuch? - My Mind's Eye

Hi there!

Do you remember way back on the first of September?  The day I promised that I would have another project to share using my ScrapMuch?  DT kit.... well, I am almost embarrassed to admit that I finally finished it!  It was just one of those things that just kept getting put on the back burned while life happened.

Any enough excuses, have a peek....

Still loving these fun colours, perfect for summer days/  Yup, you can definitely use pink for boys... what the heck!  I like it, it's my album - hehe!

Got a little creative with my alphas - the package was slim pickings at this point, but mixing upper and lower case, as well as throwing in a '3' for and 'e' got the job done!
I am still in love with these MME swags, they are so pretty and fun.  they are actually pretty long but come in nice small packaging which makes for easy storage.
Some washi tape, and some butterflies finish it off! Oh, and we can't forget the twine... another love of mine.

Better with friends - Whimsie Doodles

Hello all!

This is my third post of the day, if you are looking for my Made Especially for You post or my Let's Get Sketchy, please  scroll down.

I have a new card up on the Whimsie Doodles blog today.  I chose to use this sweet Cafe Lizze image to make a friendship card.

Isn't she darling, I used the colours in this Memory Makers patterned paper as my inspiration to colour her up.   I am not sure if you can tell, but the papers inside the label die cut are placed to set a scene, such as the interior of a home.  I have been wanting to try this for a while, kind of cute I think!
I coloured an extra coffee cup so that I could pop it up to give the card some dimension.
A little flower with some punched leaves for fun.
I created this little sentiment on my computer.

You can find this sweetie and more great digis in the Whimsie Doodles Store!

Thanks for visiting me again today!

Prehistoric Park - Let's Get Sketchy - My MInd's Eye,

If you are here for my Made Especially for You post, please scroll down.
It is the start of a brand new week, and that means there is a new sketch to play with over at Let's Get Sketchy !  See, there is something good about Mondays!   Play along with two of this month's sketches for your chance to win!

This is the layout I created based on this week's sketch ....
I love these photos, Timmy was such a character at this park.  And even though this is an older MME collection, when I found it on clearance I knew it would be just perfect for these photos.
Layering die cuts and chipboard elements for dimension.
Googly eyes are always a good thing!
I used a couple of different alphas for a fun look.

Here is this week's sketch, created by none other than yours truly....

Now it's your turn, pop on over to  Let's Get Sketchy to see what the rest of the design team has created and once you have your fill of inspiration - create a layout to play along.  Remember, by creating just two layouts each month you get your name entered into a draw to win the prize of the month!

Bee Happy - Made Especailly For You

Hello there!

Today's challenge is up on the Made Especially for You blog.  For this week we are challenging you to create a GATEFOLD card.  This week's sponsor is "Paper Piecings by Nikki" who generously donated a $15.00 gift certificate for the winner.

This is my card....
I decided to create a scalloped circle card, using one of my Spellbinders.
This sweet digi with it's 'Bee Happy' sentiment makes for a great any occasion card.
 An inside shot.
 And one more.
I picked up this free digi here, and the pattern paper is American Crafts.

Now why don't you head on over to the Made Especially for You blog and see what the rest of the DT created, and stick around to play along!

Your Own Sunshine - Colorful Creations Sketch - My MInd's Eye

Hi there!

I hope you are having a great weekend so far!  Today is my turn to share a sketch at Colorful Creations. Check it out.....

I also created a layout to go with it, just for fun!  Have a look....
I flipped the sketch to suit the orientation of my photo, but otherwise I stuck pretty close to it.
I used my Epiphany button studio to make just the perfect button.
My little banner is just layered punched circles with the bottom layer sewn onto the layout.
This little wooden heart mimics my son's hands nicely.
Such a pretty tag, dolled up with a brad and butterfly!

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you get a chance to play along.
