Happy Halloween

Just popping in quick to wish you all a Happy Halloween, hoping you get some dry weather for the Trick or Treaters in your area!

Timmy and I made these really simple Halloween treat bags for his class mates....

Like I said we kept it really simple, just a little cutting and corner chomping them adding a stamped sentiment from CTMH, and stapled them in place.

I am not sure what grade is the magic number that kids do not bring loot bags any more (do you know)  though I have a sad feeling that this may just be our last year.  If I remember correctly last year when he was in grade 3 most kids no longer brought in treats :(

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

My Scrap Space

Hello all!

Back again with a few craft room photos for  you.  I was just catching up on my blog feed reading and noticed that Authentique is having a 'Show us Your Craft Space" challenge.  And since I snapped a few pictures of my space a little while ago when it was clean, I thought I'd play along.

My space is a small spare bedroom, with great light.  I am still working on storage and have a couple of things on my wish list to improve this area.

Colour Chalenge - Made Especially for You

Hi there!

Today's challenge is up on the Made Especially for You blog.  For this week we are challenging you to create a card using the following colour scheme.....

This week's sponsor is My Heart Pieces who is generously donating 3 images to the winner.

This is my card....

Since I didn't have any patterned  papers with this colour scheme, I went very literal and punched a butterfly in each of the 5 colours and layered them over a wood grain embossed base page.  I love how it turned out, and so did the friend I sent this to!

Now why don't you head on over to the Made Especially for You blog and see what the rest of the DT created, and stick around to play along!

Caught the Big One ~ Let's Get Sketchy ~ Lucky 7 Factory

Hi there!

It is the start of a brand new week, and that usually means there is a new sketch to play with over at Let's Get Sketchy !    But as this is the 5th Monday of the month, we are mixing things up a bit.  Each of the DT were paired up to lift a layout from another DT member!    You can play along too, just choose any other layouts features on the  Let's Get Sketchy blog this week, whether the lift of the new take on it, to lift yourself... then link it up to us!

This is the layout I created ...

These patterned papers are from the Lucky 7 Factory.
I sprinkled a variety of sizes and colours of buttons as well as some brads across my layout.

A twig from my garden creates a cute little fishing pool.
 A multi font title.
And some hand cut arrow shapes.

And this is the layout that I chose to lift.   You can see that I too stuck with a red, green, gold and beige colour palette  And stuck fairly close to this original design.

Now it's your turn, pop on over to  Let's Get Sketchy to see what the rest of the design team has created and once you have your fill of inspiration - create a layout to play along.  Remember, you now have the entire month to create 3 two layouts to get your name entered into a draw to win the prize of the month!

This is my last DT post for Let's Get Sketchy, and I have to say that I will miss these girls!  I have loved every minute of being a part of this team.  They are a warm and funny group of ladies.  I will definitely still be following along with the blog and playing along once in a while too.  Thanks fro everything ladies!

8 + 1 ~ Boy's Rule ~ Studio Calico

Hi there!

I have a project up on the Boy's Rule blog today using the super fun October  kit.  I am loving creating with this kit, and getting so many projects out of it!

This collection is just perfect for my back to school pictures, on my youngest son.
There are fun vintage pictures and phrases on the pattern papers.
A combination of paper clips and stickers to create a math problem title.  Although it does represent his age and not his grade, but I like it!
More Evaliscious badges and Maya Road wood bits.
I used some of the twine in the kit to stitch around part of my  layout.

Why don't you pop by the  Boy's Rule blog, to see what the other DT members are creating, there is always lots going on over there!

A little gfift

Hi there!

I am away this weekend with some great friends at a scrappy retreat!  Actually, I am spoiled rotten and will be attending 2 weekend retreats in a row!

I wanted to create a a little something for the girls that I am away with this weekend, so first I started out with these cards....

These cards are all basically the exact same design, coloured up in colours that remind me of each of the 3 friends that I will be giving them to.  This sweet crafty girl digi is perfect for these cards , she is a Whimsie Doodle digi and you can find her here.  I think she is a must-have digi for gift giving to scrappy friends.  I love the little Maya Road wood scissors, too.

Then I crocheted each friends one of these....

They are called Sashay Ruffled Scarves, they are fairly straight forward to make though I admit it took me a little while to crochet them up - this yarn is tricky to work with for me and my limited eye site.  But I  love the way they turned out.  It's hard to tell in this photo but the yarn has a little bit of sparkle in it.

Next up came some very simple wrapping ....

.... just some brown paper bags, doilies, ribbon, flowers and bling - they came together in seconds each.  But I think they look cute.

I am excited to give these to the girls (actually by the time this posts I probably already have - I just didn't want to post it too early and spoil the surprise)!

I hope you all are having a great weekend!  Thanks for visiting!

First Day - Boy's Rule - Studio Calico

Hi there!

If you are here for my MEFY blog hop, please scroll down.

There is another fabulous new sketch to play with today over at Boy's Rule!  I had a lot of fun with it when pairing it with this month's fun kit!  Here is a look at my interpretation of it......

I used the mist in the kit along with a mask to add some 'sun ray' type shapes to my layout.  I loved the 'white space' on this layout.  I added one extra photo and love the look of it!
I paired this cool number 4 paper clip with  a  piece of one of the pattern papers with a 4 in it, I think the effect is fun and perfect for my 4th grader!

I punches these letters out of one of the patterned papers to create this sub-title to label the photos with my son's emotions from the morning of the first day of school.
I love these darling Evaliscious badges!
Here is the fab sketch by fellow Boy's Rule DT member Jenny.

Now why don't you pop on over to the Boy's Rule blog to play along with this week's sketch!  I will be sure to visit your blog and leave you some love if you do!

Telephone Blog Hop - Made Especailly For You

Hi there!

Welcome to Made Especially For You's
Telephone Blog Hop!

If you've never heard of the "Telephone" game it's a game most often played by kids that simulates how a story can change from person to person, or how a rumor can start. For example, I may tell Susie that at lunch today I had a peanut butter sandwich, an apple, and some milk, and she may go tell Jackie that I had a turkey sandwich, an apple, and some milk. Although only one small detail was changed, over time the entire story can change. The game is played by starting with a story and whispering it from one person to the next in a circle and seeing how the story changed once the last person has told it.

We decided to play this game as a design team, not with stories, but with cards! Our DT leader Ashley started with a photo of a card, emailed it to someone, who then created a card based off her card, and sent a photo of it to the next person. As a design team, this is the first time we're seeing the progression of the cards!

Here is the photo of the card I received from Pam. .....

And here is the card I created inspired by her card:

Pam's card inspired me to use a digi, 2 banners and the word 'celebrate'
This cute little digi is from Whimsie Doodles.
Here are the Copic colours I used for this card.

What fun is a blog hop without blog candy?! A couple of our design team members have donated some blog candy for those who comment on EVERY stop of the hop!

Leibster Award

Hello there!

I am blessed to be honored with the Liebster Award!!
I would like to thank Susie over at Susie's Craft Happy  for giving me this award.  Susie is a whiz with a Cricut and makes amazing cards.

Now without further adieu, let me tell you about this award:
Liebster is a German word meaning "Beloved","Favourite," or "Dearest." This award is a peer to peer award in which fellow bloggers present the award to their favorite bloggers with less than 200 followers. The origins of this award is unclear, but is believed to have originated by a German blogger. This award was designed to be a blog award in the pay it forward fashion to share your dearest and most beloved blogs that have less than 200 followers.

Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to their blog. Post the award onto your blog. Give the award five bloggers who you appreciate that have less than 200 followers. Leave a comment on their blog letting them know that you have given them this awesome award!

These are the ladies I am passing it on to...
Laurie makes beautiful scrapbook layouts that are fun and vibrant.

Eileen who is a mini album guru.

Tracy who can make a masterpiece from a sketch.

Pam who is not afraid to try new things to keep making lovely cards.

Ann who I admire for her gesso skills.  I still haven't even ventured out to buy some!

Thank you  to each of you for your inspiration and kindness.

I'm nuts about you - Whimsie Doodles

Hi there!

I have a new card up on the Whimsie Doodles blog today.  I chose to play with this adorable Nuts about you digi, from this month's new releases!  It is super cute and just perfect for your sweetie!

Here are the Copics I used to colour up this digi.
The wooden leaves help reinforce the fall theme of this card, along with some great fall colours in the papers.

You can find this sweetie and more great digis in the Whimsie Doodles Store!

Thanks for visiting me today!
