There is a brand new challenge up at Stuck?! Sketches, we hope you join us in the fun we have two amazing prizes from wonderful sponsors to give away!
Here is the sketch, it is pretty versatile and also a favourite style of mine....
And this is my take on it....
I used the greys, greens and browns in the photos as my colour cues adding in blue because I know the sky was bright as are my boys eyes. All these papers are from Jillibean Soup, as are many of the embellishments though they do come from several different lines. Did you know that Jillibean uses the same tone of their main colours from line to line so that you can mix them nicely? Me neither til recently! Such a great idea.
I began my page by adding Gesso with a wood grained mask and distress ink through another mask.
Then I used a variety of circular lids to add some pain to my page.
Then the fun bit begins - adding in all the goodies and layers!
I have been loving rub ons lately and used some from several different packages on this page. These sweet Studio Calico butterflies seemed just perfect for this masculine and rustic boys page.
This mini placemat has the greatest phrase on it and I was super pleased to use it on my page.
Layered elements and brads from my stash. I have been clearing these out lately!
And still more.
I find that I lay down the photo and patterned paper pretty quickly on my pages but it can take me a while to get the embellishing to look the way I want it to.
Lately, I have been pulling out a bunch of embellishments that might work on my page, and going through the packages and adding what feels right, it is fun and sort of feels like shopping!
