Ticket to Ride | Stuck?! Sketches

I am sharing my latest layout for Stuck?! Sketches today, we are teaming up with Just Nick who provided some of the DT with fabulous cut files to play with, myself included!

If you popped by here on the 15th you may have already seen the sketch that we are playing with.  Here is another look at it.

I chose the following cut files, from the Just Nick shop, to add as design elements to my page.

I seriously love the alpha and funky pie charts.  Actually the pie charts sort of reminded me of wheels so I thought they were perfect for this layout of my son riding our neighbour's quad.  The two photos in the background I snapped while he was riding, the one of his face in the foreground, is a selfie that I found on his phone.  It is not great quality, there is lots of glare and reflection, but I loved finding it and really wanted to use it.

I had a lot of fun creating this messy boy-ish page with these great cut files, that I choose to cut from black cardstock and back with a variety of Simple Stories patterned papers.

I used the pie chart cut files in place of the suggested painted circular elements on my page and I really love how they look. The file folder was just too fun, so I used it as a layering piece.

This alpha cut file is the best!  I paired it with some tiny alpha stickers to create my title.

I also added in some flair from Accent Scrapbooking, in two spots on my page.

I started my page by adding some Gelato to the background. I used rub-ons from Making Memories and Tim Holtz, which both have a rustic and distressed feel to them so they are just perfect for my page.

I also found some Crate Paper embellishments in my stash from their Boys Rule collection, which worked perfectly on my layout.

I got a little old school with some brads and used them as I would use enamel dots.

And finished things off with some black mist splatters and tiny sequin stars also from Crate Paper.

I created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List:  Simple Stories patterned papers; Gelato; Gesso; Mr. Huey mist; misc brads;  Accent Scrapbooking flair; Tim Holtz and Making Memories rub-ons; Crate Paper wood elements, acrylic frame and sequins; Authentique alpha stickers; Teresa Collins label stickers; Staedtler pen.

Magical Dreamer | Noel Mignon

Hi there!

I am sharing a new layout over on the Noel Mignon Scrapbooking Kits blog today, this week the DT is creating with "magical" inspiration! And I found mine in the form of a title.

Once again I am playing with "borrowed" photos, but as soon as I heard we were going with the "magical" theme I knew I had to use these pics!  I created this circular frame with wings just for these photos!

I brought in a bit of this gold scalloped tape from last months kit because it seemed too perfect layered under my photo which was matted with two patterned papers from the kit.

My wings became a focal area and were embellished with these sweet embellishments, I added in a bit of messy gold thread from my kit.

I used both of the alphas from the kit to create this pretty title.

Once again I used a sweet hanger clip from Maya Road, this time it "holds" a pretty ribbon!

How adorable are these resin bows, and how incredibly perfect, too! n this cluster to the left of my photo I layered it over a Prima flower, clustering it with a Pink Paislee wood accent and a Fancy Pants puffy sticker.

I added one final embellishment cluster at the bottom right side of my layout to balance out my page.

I created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List: Crate Paper patterned paper; Fancy Pants Millie and June patterned paper, puffy alphas, die cuts and flair; Pink Paislee wood accents and buttons; Simple Stories Posh chipboard and stickers; May Arts ribbon; Maya Road hanger clips and resin bows; American Crafts white cardstock Thickers; Prima flower; Ranger enamel accents. From Last month's kit: Jen Hadfield scalloped gold tape and Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine.  (From my stash: DMC metallic gold thread)

Cards | Jillibean Soup

Hello there!

I am popping in to share a couple of cards today.  Do you want to know something funny?  I often make cards to put into my stash, but when it comes time for giving I most often will create a card especially for that person.  Today's share are two cards that I created recently which I had a need for even though I keep a stash of thank you and birthday cards ;)

I love the teals and acid greens with pops of yellow, pink and red.

I have always been a Jillibean Soup fan and especially love that JBS uses the same hues throughout their lines, which makes mixing and matching a breeze, which also adds up to me being able to do a little stash busting when I created these two cuties!

Happy Birthday to You Supply List: Chilled Cucumber Soup patterned paper; Cool as a Cucumber Soup die cut; Birthday Bisque sticker, Robin's Nest dew drop.

THX Supply List; Chilled Cucumber Soup patterned paper and die cuts; Happy Camper sticker; Sports die cut; Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder; JBS Alphabeans letter stickers; Your Next Stamp enamel dots; Misc. cardstock; Creative Memories silver pen.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Girl | Noel Mignon

Hello and happy Saturday!

I am up on the Noel Mignon Scrapbooking Kits blog today sharing a layout using the September 2016 Buttons and Bows Classic Kit, this week the design team is showcasing projects using buttons and bows, handy right?

I have to tell you that I am having so much fun with this kit, getting my "girlie" on!  If you are new here you may not know that I am a mom of all boys, including a grandson, so I am really embracing this feminine kit!

I created this page of my friend's granddaughter and I cannot wait to share it with her!

I opted to do a grid design for my layout, bu decided on a grid of hearts opposed to squares or circles.  I knew that I wanted to put my title and photo in opposite corners, so after cutting nine hearts out of my background paper, I cut 2 open scalloped hearts to frame these two focal areas.

Once I was finished embellishing my layout, I hand-stitched a gold flourish as an extra accent.

These Fancy Pants Millie and June alphas could not be any sweeter, and I know that I have mentioned how much I love these little hangers!

I backed my layout with another patterned paper, and then filled in my remaining cut out hearts.  Three of them I filled with doilies cut with my Silhouette using the white cardstock from the kit.  Then I embellished them with Fancy Pants bows.  The kit actually only contained two bows of this size, so I trimmed a third one down using a smaller one as a template. I love how sweet they look!

The four remaining hearts were filled with soft green cardstock hearts that I ran through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder.

I used the eyelet trim to create a frilly collar for this flair piece. Isn't it the cutest! I added a couple of stickers, buttons and a sprinkling of gems to finis off my page.

I created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List: Pink Paislee patterned paper and buttons; American Craft cardstock in white and geyser; Fancy Pants Millie and June paper bows, puffy alphas, die cuts and flair; Simple Stories Posh epoxy clips and stickers;  Queen and Co. bling; May Arts ribbon; Maya Road hanger clips.  (From my stash: DMC metallic gold thread; Lifestyle embossing folder)

Grandma's Girl | Noel Mignon

Hello! I am up on the Noel Mignon Scrapbooking Kits blog today sharing a layout using the September 2016 Buttons and Bows Classic Kit, this week the design team is showcasing projects using a brand new sketch challenge, you can check out how to play and win on the Noel Mignon blog!

Here is a peek at the sketch...

And this is my take on it...

I created this layout for a friend who became a new Grandma recently, I have been crushing over her photos of this sweet baby girl and just couldn't resist making some feminine pages!

The ombre background background paper and the floral inset are both the same piece of paper.  I loved both sides and this sketch made it possible for me to use them both, in a significant way on my page!  I cut the paper at 1.5 inches and at 8 inches, then I flipped over the centre piece and adhered them to a piece of cardstock.

I used a punch to add a scalloped edge to the green cardstock strips on either side of the floral piece and added some machine stitching once the pieces were tacked into place.

I used the eyelet lace to create a textural element underneath the horizontal fishtail piece on my layout.  I ran a loose basting stitch along the edge of the lace and then cinched it up and adhered it using Score tape.

I love these puffy gold words from the Fancy Pants Milly and June collection, I used pieces of the word "best" to add the extra letters and punctuation needed to create my title.

Once that was done, I moved on to embellishing.  I didn't really have a clear vision of where I wanted to go with that, so I played around with things for a while. I did love this suede bow, it is just too perfect!

And these little gold hangers are too darling!  You can see that I am still enjoying my bottle of enamel accents, too!

I pulled out a glittery tag that I had leftover from last months kit, it was just the thing I needed anchor this extra embellishment cluster that I added to my page.

I also added some gold Colour Shine from last months kit, to finish off my layout.  Love that stuff!

I created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List:  Pink Paislee patterned paper #'s 6, 17, 18 from the "take me away" collection; American Crafts cardstock in geyser and white; Ranger enamel accents; Crate Paper candy hearts; Pink Paislee 'take me away' buttons and felt bow; Simple Stories 'Posh' 4x6 stickers and chipboard; Prima flower; Maya Road clip; May Arts eyelet trim; Fancy Pants "Millie and June' puffy stickers and die cuts; Jen Hadfield gold glitter tag (last months kit); Heidi Swapp colour shine (last months kit).
